Director

Jason Anderson (1998 - Current)
Jason grew up in the Milwaukee area, but has lived in Madison since his days at "the UW."  More recently, Jason completed a Master's degree program in Experiential and Environmental Education.  In addition to Wander Wisconsin, Jason manages the AFTER SCHOOL summer day camp and enrichment programs as well as Middle School U and Generation Tours.  He has served on the board of the Wisconsin section of the American Camp Association.   Jason and his wife and two sons enjoy "wandering" Wisconsin together on the weekends.

Program Director

Cheri Wilson (2008 - Current)

Cheri was born in Madison but grew up in Northern California and Hawaii and just recently moved to Cross Plains with her two kids and two dogs.  Cheri has a BA in Environmental Studies and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University.  Her background includes running charter sailboats, environmental consulting and environmental education.  Cheri has also been a youth soccer coach and involved in Cub Scouts for several years.  Cheri was a volunteer with the Audubon Society where she helped with a prescribed burn at Corkscrew Sanctuary near Fort Meyers, FL.  She enjoys camping and exploring the outdoors with her kids and volunteering for a variety of environmental organizations.  She is excited to share her passion for nature and exploration with Wisconsin youth.

Trip Leader

Jesse Davis (Summer 2009 - Current)

Jesse grew up wandering the shores and forests of Lake Michigan at his grandparents house on the lake.   He graduated from Edgewood College with a Secondary Teaching Certification and a Degree in Social Studies and History.  In 2007 Jesse spent 28 days in the backcountry of Alaska and hiked 165 miles.  Currently he works at a near by high school working with Special Education students.  He loves backcountry cooking and seeing wildlife in its natural setting.

Trip Leader

Angela Gutierrez (Summer 2009 - Current)

For the past six years Angela has worked with youth of all ages through a variety of employers: James C. Wright Middle School, The PEOPLE Program, MSCR, The Boys and Girls Club, and Boy Scouts of America.  She is excited about her first summer working as a Trip Leader for Wander Wisconsin.  She recently graduated from UW-Madison with a double major in African Languages and Literature, and Spanish. She cannot wait until she has her own classroom someday.  Angela has been an avid camper ever since she was little, when her mom introduced her to the great outdoors.  Although she enjoys most outdoor activities such as long boarding, rock climbing, river kayaking, swimming, hiking, and cross country running, just plain walking is her favorite.  She has also been active in team sports-- volleyball, basketball, soccer and rowing.  When Angela is not camping or busy with team sports, she often reads, writes, sings, does photography, records videos, works on art projects, learns new languages, watches independent/foreign films and blogs all the time.

Trip Leader

Joshua Ludke (Summer 2000 - Current)

Josh has been with Wander Wisconsin for eight summers. Before that he spent seven summers at the Wisconsin Lions Camp. Josh has a Bachelor's degre in Art Therapy from UW-Superior and earned his teaching certificate at UW-Madison for Art Education for grades k-12. Josh is a substitute teacher for the Madison Metropolitan School District. He is an artist,  a storyteller and a musician.  A common question asked by returning campers is, "Will Josh be one of my trip leaders?!"

Trip Leader

Peter Wirtz (Summer 2009-Current)

Peter is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Math and History and started as an AFTER SCHOOL Site Supervisor at Franklin Elementary in January 2009.   He has been going on camping trips with his family his whole life, and loves fishing, hiking, and stargazing.  He has been camping in the Boundary Waters almost every summer since he was ten, and loves being outdoors.  The only thing that rivals his love for nature is his love for Badger sports! Go Red!
